It is so easy to get stuck in the same routine day in and day out. As my classmates and I get closer to taking our first board exams, the advice that I have heard from a variety of people is, “Don’t fuck around, don’t fuck it up.” Cool. Ok.
I can only speak for myself, but I don’t think it’s possible to cloister yourself in a room, study constantly, and only emerge to eat, sleep, and shower. The past few weeks, have been a whirlwind and the dark scary cloud of STEP 1 and LEVEL 1 is looms closer every day. I’m finding it difficult to balance my course work, board prep, and general activities of daily living. It’s hard not to compare my current quality of life, grades, board prep progress, board practice averages.. YOU NAME IT, with my classmates.
This weekend’s schedule was much of the same, however, I made some time to get out of the study dungeon.
I went on a hike with some friends. What did the hike show me? I need to get outside more. I am super out of shape. You can hurt your throat by huffing and puffing too hard.
I see the Organ Mountains everyday, but it was an awesome view from A mountain. I said a little prayer while I was up there, then I eventually came to terms, and said fuck it.
I have been eyeballing this face wash and mask for a while now, and I figured why not? I’m not breaking the bank, and I get to make myself feel squeaky clean and refreshed even for a little.
Taking some time out for a hike. Taking some time out for a little pampering. They’re nice little escapes from the monotony of our day to day. Namaste, guys.
Don’t forget to treat yourself every now and then!
